Kara, Osterbind Law’s first Marketing Assistant, works diligently to increase the firm’s online presence and assesses new marketing strategies. She can often be found behind some sort of screen creating social media posts or developing written content for newsletters and blogs.
Born and raised in rural Virginia, Kara moved to the Lynchburg area to attend Liberty University. Excited to be in an environment with like-minded people, she originally entered as a freshman Journalism major. She quickly learned that was not the right fit, and after discussing things with an academic advisor, determined that Strategic Communication was a major that included journalism aspects but did not confine her to that field. She could still interview people, write, and tell stories with a major in communications.
While writing stories for the university student-ran newspaper and working on campus, Kara graduated in three years. Immediately following graduation, she worked as a Communications Specialist for a Lynchburg business.
When applying to work at Osterbind Law, Kara mainly wanted to further her experience and use her talents to tell stories. It quickly became apparent that she could share the experiences of clients and help potential clients understand they are not alone in their struggles. She shares a core value with Osterbind Law of loving and helping people. By working closely with Brandon to learn the processes of the legal system, Kara uses her knowledge of marketing and communications to bring awareness to the firm in the Lynchburg and central Virginia area.
Outside of work, Kara can often be found playing volleyball, enjoying movie nights, and going on adventures with her close friends. She enjoys reading novels of many genres and going to concerts.
